Jalen Milroe, Alabama's standout quarterback, has been lighting up the gridiron in the 2024 college football season. However, off the field, Milroe has other ambitions that his Tompkins High School coach Todd McVey spoke about.

In an Instagram reel, a part of Milroe's "LANK by Jalen Milroe" series, the quarterback discussed his bond with McVey during their days at Tompkins in Texas.

“Me and coach McVey entered Tompkins at the same time. I didn't know what the future was going to present,” Milroe said.

However, later in the video, McVey added a lighthearted twist about Milroe.

"We have a saying when we come in a locker room. There's no jewelry, no earrings. That's because we don't wanna break them or have them pulled. And, uh, I guess Jay would forget sometimes,” McVey chuckled.
“So I think I have quite a few of his. And the rule was if I took 'em, you don't get 'em back. So I said, 'These are gonna make me famous one time, Jaley.' One day I'll be famous 'cause of your earrings.'"

Milroe’s success with Alabama, racking up 1,483 passing yards and 12 touchdowns in 2024, is rooted in his hard work in his early playing days, which McVey shaped during high school.

How did "LANK by Jalen Milroe' series come to fruition?

The Alabama quarterback is hitting it off with his on-camera presence and new digital diary series, “LANK by Jalen Milroe.” Powered by Beast and produced by Improbable Media, the season-long series gives fans an inside look at the University of Alabama quarterback’s journey through the 2024 season.

Milroe aims to take fans along for the ride as the Crimson Tide seeks SEC and National Championship glory. Created with teammate Terrion Arnold after a tough 2022 playoff loss, LANK — short for "Let All Naysayers Know" — has become a symbol of resilience and motivation.

“We have a new coach and system, but the mission is the same. We’re going to compete for a SEC and National Championship, and I’m looking to make more history of my own. Fans and naysayers can come along for the ride. Fans and naysayers, come along for the ride,” Milroe said.

Beast® CEO Holden Ferguson praised Milroe, calling him “a Beast on and off the field” and believing the partnership will redefine excitement in men's personal care.
