“Year 6 without you”: Ole Miss QB Walker Howard has emotional message for late mom Kathryn

Walker Howard is yet to register passing yards or touchdowns for the Ole Miss Rebels this season. He is currently the second-string quarterback for coach Lane Kiffin, with Jaxson Dart being the preferred QB option.

While Howard patiently waits for his turn, he has a special message for his late mom, Kathryn Howard. The Ole Miss QB uploaded a photo with her mother on his Instagram story on September 27, captioning it:

"Year 6 without you."

"Forvever best friend❤️😇"

Howard’s life took a heartbreaking turn in 2018 when his mother lost a two-year battle with cancer. The tragedy struck while Walker was a freshman QB at St. Thomas More, with his father, former LSU quarterback Jamie Howard, standing by his side.

In an emotional tribute, STM's football team honored Kathryn during their 56-21 road win over Franklinton. On the first offensive play, the team intentionally took a delay of game, kneeling to symbolize that “it’s just a game,” according to STM offensive coordinator Shane Savoie. Kathryn’s passing left behind a close-knit family, including her three daughters: Allyson, Meredyth and Hillary.

Walker Howard is dating Lane Kiffin's daughter Landry Kiffin

Howard enjoys life off the field with Landry Kiffin, the daughter of Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin. The two have been spotted having a great time together. In April, Landry posted photos on Instagram from a Kappa Kappa Gamma formal, where she dazzled in a white gown, while Howard looked sharp in a blazer and formal attire.

The couple's fun moments didn’t stop there. In June, Landry shared snaps from a weekend getaway with Walker, including a sushi lunch and an adorable picture of Howard with a German Shepherd puppy. She also posted a special birthday tribute for Walker on his 21st birthday, showing him enjoying colorful pancakes adorned with a “21” on top.

With over 15,000 Instagram followers and 50,000 TikTok followers, Landry has given her audience plenty of reasons to follow her relationship with Walker Howard. The couple’s social media presence is quickly gaining attention, making them a hot topic among fans of both Ole Miss football and the Kiffin family.
