Who are the starting quarterbacks for Florida and Tennessee?

Florida starting QB:

Graham Mertz will continue his duties as the starting QB of the Gators. He transferred from Wisconsin in 2023 and took up the QB1 role for the team last season. During Florida's 5-7 campaign in 2023, Mertz recorded a total of 2,903 passing yards and 20 TD passes.

This season, he injured himself in the season opener against Miami, which led to him being sidelined for one game. Backup QB DJ Lagway started for Florida against Samford in week 2 and put up a spectacular performance. And since then, he has been sharing the field with Mertz in almost every game.

In five games, Lagway has thrown for 667 yards and four TDs. Thus, in the week 7 showdown against Tennessee, expect to see him be a part of the QB rotation with Graham Mertz for the Gators.

Tennessee starting QB:

Vols QB Nico Iamaleava will be the starting QB in week 7 against the Florida Gators. Iamaleava served as the backup to Joe Milton in his freshman campaign last season. And after Milton's NFL departure, he was named as the starting QB for the team.

In five games this season, Iamaleava has thrown for 1,050 yards and seven TDs along with two interceptions for the Vols. Fans will be expecting him to help the team recover from their last week's loss to Arkansas.
