The No. 15-ranked Clemson Tigers will face the Florida State Seminoles in a Week 6 meeting between two ACC programs having much different seasons. Clemson began the year with an embarrassing blowout loss to the then-No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs in its season opener.

It has responded by making a statement that it is not to be written off. The Tigers have picked up three straight blowout wins, outscoring the Appalachian State Mountaineers, NC State Wolfpack and Stanford Cardinal by a combined score of 165-69.

Florida State began the season ranked 10th in the preseason AP Top 25 Poll. However, things could have gone much worse than expected. It was out of the rankings altogether by the first update after suffering Week 0 and Week 1 losses to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and Boston College Eagles, respectively. The Seminoles fell to 0-3 with a non-conference loss to the Memphis Tigers.

They welcomed the California Golden Bears to the ACC in Week 4, picking up their first win of the season. It did not carry over, however, as they suffered a blowout loss to the SMU Mustangs last weekend, falling to 1-3 in conference play.

Clemson vs. Florida State head-to-head

The Clemson Tigers and Florida State Seminoles are set to meet for the 37th time. The two teams first met in 1970 with the Seminoles winning 38-13. They also hold the series lead as they have a 21-15 record against their ACC rivals.

Florida State won last year's matchup 31-24 in overtime en route to an undefeated regular season and ACC Conference Championship. The victory snapped a seven-game Clemson winning streak, its longest in the history of the rivalry.

The Seminoles have the longest winning streak, however, with 11 straight wins between 1992 and 2002. The winner of the matchup has won 12 of the past 13 ACC Conference Championship Games.
