The Alabama Crimson Tide will open their widely anticipated 2024 season against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers on Saturday. The game will be the first in the Kalen DeBoer era at Alabama.

This should be an interesting affair as the college football world will finally get to see how coach DeBoer runs the Alabama team. But for those watching the game on TV, who will be providing the commentary?

As "College GameDay" is not at the game (they are at the Notre Dame-Texas A&M game), this is not the main broadcast crew for ESPN but it is still a highly experienced team.

What time is Alabama vs. Western Kentucky today?

The game between Alabama and Western Kentucky will kick off at 7 p.m. ET.

What to expect in the Alabama vs. Western Kentucky game?

Not many people are expecting this to be a close game. However, fans will be keeping their eyes on this matchup because it is the beginning of a new era for the historic Alabama Crimson Tide.

This is their first game since 2006 without Nick Saban as coach and he has been replaced by former Washington Huskies coach Kalen DeBoer.

The Crimson Tide did lose some of their key players from previous seasons to either the transfer portal or the NFL draft; however, one key player that DeBoer was able to keep is quarterback Jalen Milroe. Milroe will lead an offense that has gained the likes of Germie Bernard. The game will also see the Alabama debut of kicker Graham Nicholson who is one of the best in college football in recent years.

As for Western Kentucky, they have a new quarterback in TJ Finley who had a good year at Texas State last season. Finley is one of more than 50 transfers for the Hilltoppers as the team hopes to improve on their successful 8-5 season from last year.

Alabama is a 34-point favorite to win this game, something the team should be able to easily do.
