The Arkansas Razorbacks gave a hard time to the No. 13 Oklahoma State Cowboys in their Week 2 loss at Boone Pickens Stadium on Saturday. Despite being an unranked team, the Razorbacks took a 21-7 lead by halftime.

However, during the dying moments of the game, a 45-yard field goal by Cowboys kicker Kyle Ramsay tied the game 31-31, forcing overtime. Oklahoma State added eight more times in overtime to win the game 39-31.

In the Week 3 matchup on Saturday, the Razorbacks will take on the UAB Blazers. The Blazers, like Razorbacks, are 1-1, coming into this contest dropping the game against the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks. However, they won their first game against Alcorn State convincingly.

For the Blazers, General Booty serves as their primary quarterback. In their 32-6 loss against the Warhawks, Booty threw 87 passing yards on 9 of 16 pass attempts.

Meanwhile, for the Razorbacks, quarterback Taylen Green had a great game that ended in a loss. Green threw 26 of 45 passes for 416 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He also rushed for 61 yards on 18 carries, highlighting his dual threat.

Arkansas Razorbacks coach Sam Pittman will be looking to continue this momentum on Saturday despite facing a tough loss.

Sam Pittman hails Razorbacks QB in tough loss

If early indication and the game against Oklahoma State say anything, it translates to the effort put in by Sam Pittman in the last nine months that saw him bringing great additions to the team. One of them was Tyler Green, a transfer from Boise State, who left the coach impressed.

After digesting a one-point loss, Pittman hailed his quarterback but also acknowledged that there were some plays that Green would like to have back.

"(Green's) our guy, and, obviously, I’m sure he’d like to have some throws back," Pittman said. "He’d like to have some decisions that he made back, but to have 500 yards against a good football team, I think we’ve got a good one there and he’ll continue to get better. We’ve got to get better around him."

A transfer from the Utah Utes, sophomore Razorbacks running back Ja'Quinden Jackson ran for 149 yards and three scores. Even in the first game, Jackson left many impressed, rushing for two touchdowns. This way, he becomes the first player to record multiple rushing touchdowns in back-to-back games since Alex Collins in 2014.

All that remains is to see whether this RB-QB duo can find victories consistently.
