Major Applewhite's South Alabama Jaguars (2-4) have dropped the last two games, the latest of which came against Arkansas State. Meanwhile, Gerad Parker's Troy Trojans (1-5), who are coming off an open week, lost their last game against Texas State.

Whoever is the quarterback, the Trojans will likely rely on running back Damien Taylor, who leads the team with 399 yards and two touchdowns on 68 carries.
On the other end, the Jaguars' offense will be led by freshman quarterback Gio Lopez, who has thrown for 1,308 yards with 12 touchdowns against one interception. The Trojans' defense also needs to be wary of senior wide receiver Jamaal Pritchett, who in the last game, led the team with a season-high 137 yards and two touchdowns.
