Anthony was hurt on a play away from the ball. ESPN did not broadcast the injury due to its severity but a cast was being applied to his left leg as he was being stretchered away from the field.

There is very little information available as to the nature and severity of the injury, and while fans online were speculating it may be a break, there can be no conclusions drawn without official word.

Auburn coach Hugh Freeze addressed the situation in his postgame press conference:

“Our thoughts are with Champ Anthony. Man, just a difficult injury,” said Freeze. “He was playing at a really high level for us. One of our leaders and I know our medical team will take great care of him as he goes through his, whatever process it is that they need to repair that injury."

Until further information is released, we cannot draw any conclusions on the severity of the injury or how long Champ Anthony might be away from the field.

Aurburn's X handle showed their solidarity after the game:

"We're with you, 25."

To which the cornerback responded with his thanks.

The injury came one snap after a big play from Anthony, who forced an incompletion with a huge hit that saw Arkansas' Anthony Armstrong lose his helmet. Armstrong received attention on the field before spending time in the medical tent, but he did manage to return to the game.

Hugh Freeze frustrated with Auburn's offense following Arkansas defeat

Auburn suffered a 24-14 defeat to Arkansas, largely on the back of five turnovers (4 INTs, 1 FMB). Hugh Freeze was visibly frustrated with the Tigers' offense, and didn't hold back when speaking to the media:

"I don't have the words to, it's just sickening, sickening that we can't take care of the football on offense and I've got to get that fixed."

Freeze recognized his defense played 'hard,' but was disappointed by multiple third and long plays that Kansas converted.

"I think five of eight third-and-longs, which we just can't do that. But they played hard on defense and our offensive guys played hard, it's just discouraging. You have one possession in the first half that you don't turn the ball over as you're moving it.
"We turned it over on Arkansas' 29, the 0 and the 27. I don't know how many points they got off of that, but it had to be some."

Auburn will look to bounce back on Saturday against Oklahoma.
