Lane Kiffin’s daughter, Presley, is holding out hope for Ole Miss after a surprising loss to Kentucky. In the closing moments of the game on Saturday, Kentucky scored a go-ahead touchdown, taking a 20-17 lead and leaving Ole Miss fans in disbelief.

While Kentucky celebrated, Presley and the Rebels wondered how everything slipped away so quickly. However, she kept a positive spirit, sharing cheerful snaps on her Instagram after the game:

Coach Kiffin didn’t let the disappointment ruin his Saturday night. He emphasized that one loss wouldn’t sway his judgment about the game.

"I'm not going to overreact in a loss like I don't overreact in a tight win," Kiffin said [H/t Yahoo].

Kiffin is aware that the "what-if" game can be tricky. The Rebels were in a strong position to secure a win with just over four minutes left. Up 17-13, they had Kentucky cornered at their 19-yard line, facing a fourth-and-7.

A stop would have almost guaranteed a victory. Instead, Kentucky’s Barion Brown outmaneuvered Ole Miss corner Isaiah Hamilton on a go route, making a stunning 63-yard catch.

The missed opportunities: If Ole Miss kicker Caden Davis had made a 48-yard field goal to tie the game with 48 seconds left, the outcome could have been very different.

Similarly, during Kentucky’s game-winning drive, if a Rebel player had recovered a late fumble instead of Kentucky tight end Josh Kattus, the story could have changed completely.

Heading into the game, Ole Miss led the FBS in scoring and yardage, averaging an impressive 55 points and 670.8 yards per game.

The Rebels started strong, marching 83 yards for a touchdown in under two minutes on their opening drive. They even pulled off a daring 48-yard touchdown on a fourth-and-7 in the third quarter. However, the team faced challenges as they looked ahead.

With four of their next six games on the road, Ole Miss has a tough schedule coming up. They will travel to Columbia, South Carolina, this week to face the Gamecocks before heading to Baton Rouge to take on the Bayou Bengals.

Additionally, home games against Oklahoma and Georgia, plus road contests against Arkansas and Florida, are on the horizon, making for an intriguing and challenging month and a half for coach Kiffin and his squad.
