The Ole Miss Rebels coach Lane Kiffin is a versatile mentor who knows how to build an effective offense and how to stay connected with his fans, friends, and family members on the internet. However, it seems like Paul Finebaum does not see the appeal of Kiffin and hence took a shot at him when he appeared on the "Berry Tramel Show."

The analyst seemingly downplayed Kiffin's social media presence and his proficiency as a coach.

"I would say no," Finebaum answered. "Everyone in the media, Berry, we're on the older statesman side of it, is in love with Lane Kiffin. They think he's hilarious.”

“I don't think he's that funny," he added. "I don't think his tweets are that interesting, and his coaching has been underwhelming at times. I’ll see it when I believe it. I haven't seen enough for me to believe right now.”

Finebaum's statement received a lot of attention from other fans and analysts. This could be one of the reasons why Finebaum missed an "aPAULogy," via ESPN. He said:

"After the Alabama game, I wrote Coach Kiffin off, said he couldn't coach, said the Ole Miss season was going down the drain. I was wrong. So, I beg, I beg all of you, forgive me! Coach Kiffin even turned Juice after me. Ole Miss has a great team. Lane Kiffin is the beat coach in college football." ( 0:16)

Kiffin shared the video on his X account:

Did Paul Finebaum get Lane Kiffin fired from the USC Trojans?

Kiffin served as the USC coach from 2010 to 2013 but was fired midseason before boarding the plane after a loss against Arizona State. Before the announcement of Kiffin's firing, Paul Finebaum nationally talked about the current Rebels coach's uncertain job status on television.

“How did someone like Lane Kiffin ever get these jobs? How did he land the Raiders job? At Tennessee? And particularly the one at SC? People think it’s because of his father, Monte, the great defensive wizard.
“In some respects, Lane Kiffin is the Miley Cyrus of college football. He has very little talent, but we simply can’t take our eyes off him.”

Fast forward to 2022, Kiffin joked to Finebaum before Ole Miss's matchup against the Alabama Crimson Tide.

“I spent eight years waiting for my chance to get back at you for getting me fired at USC… For calling me Miley Cyrus. My athletic director was watching the TV when you said it that morning!”

Many thought that Kiffin and Paul Finebaum had left animosity behind each other but they all know what happened on the "Berry Tramel Show."
