The Ole Miss Rebels have introduced new technology to enhance practice sessions during the offseason. Ole Miss shared a social media post introducing a new jug machine designed to assist receivers in catching the ball.

As shown in the Instagram video, the new jug machine can be set up to send balls to certain distances and heights. It also reloads on its own, allowing players to conduct extra work on their own, without the need for a coach or another player to put the balls into the machine.

The Rebels' coaching staff believes that this new technology will help improve their wide receiver room. Ole Miss does have a solid receiving group featuring players like Juice Wells, Jordan Watkins, Tre Harris, and Deion Smith Jr. among others.

Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss excited for the D-Line

Entering the 2024 season, Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels have high expectations, aiming not only to qualify for the 12-team playoff but also to compete for a national championship.

Kiffin has been building Ole Miss up throughout the years, and the school finally seems ready to take the next step. Entering the season, the head coach says the position group he's most excited about is the defensive line.

"I would say the D-line, because we really haven't had a premier D-line since we've been here, and so we have a chance to have a mix of guys that really could be high NFL picks up there," Kiffin said, via The Clarion-Ledger.
"In this conference, that's a total game changer – any conference, but especially here. We saw at Georgia last year the impact that can have... I'm excited that if they develop like they should, we can really look good on defense up front, which really has not been the case since we've been here or the previous years before."

If the Rebels can apply pressure on the quarterback it will likely lead to plenty of success for Ole Miss. The Rebels enter 2024 with the fifth-best odds of winning the national championship at +1500, according to DraftKings.

Ole Miss has notable games against LSU, Georgia, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Florida, and Mississippi State among others.
