Ahead of his College GameDay appearance this weekend, Nick Saban has had some activities in Austin to participate in. As Texas hosts Georgia in a highly anticipated top-5 game in the city on Saturday, Formula 1 takes center stage in Austin on Sunday at the United States Grand Prix.

On Friday, ESPN’s GameDay crew took a break from the football field and ventured to the Formula 1 racetrack for some high-speed fun, with Nick Saban stealing the show. The legendary former college football coach didn’t hesitate to join in, embracing the opportunity to experience the thrill of the Circuit of the Americas.

A video posted by GameDay captured Saban casually strolling along the track before strapping into the passenger seat of a sleek Mercedes-Benz AMG. Moments later, he was whisked away for a fast-paced lap, fully immersing himself in the adrenaline of the experience.

Nick Saban evaluates the Georgia vs. Texas game

The highly anticipated Week 8 game between Georgia and Texas is a battle between Nick Saban's former assistant at Alabama. Kirby Smart takes his Bulldogs team on a trip to Austin to square up against Steve Sarkisian’s dominant Longhorns.

On “The Pat McAfee Show,” on Friday, Saban offered his evaluation of the SEC encounter. The coach gave his opinion on the strategy Texas could employ in the game after speaking with the coach earlier in the week.

“I talked to Sark this week, and he kind of stays pretty even keel. He sort of analyzes the game a little differently in terms of how he’s going to approach it, what he’s going to do,” Saban said.
“He’s had his offensive staff together for a long time. So they know they’re going to have to make adjustments in the game, because of his respect for Kirby in the way Kirby will play defense."

Nick Saban subsequently commented on Georgia, which had suffered a loss in a top 5 game earlier this season. While he's yet to speak to the Bulldogs coach on the contest, he expressed what could be a concern for the team on Saturday.

“I did not talk to Kirby. I’m going to talk to him a little later today,” Saban said. “But I know Kirby’s been a little concerned about how they play defense.
“Not quite as good a tackling team as they’ve been in the past, they’ve given up a few more explosive plays. But he’s got a really good defensive coaching staff. He’s got good players, and I’m sure they’ll get them on track.”

Texas enters the game as the only undefeated team in the SEC and is considered a consensus 5-point favorite. Georgia, meanwhile, will look to avoid another defeat this season after losing to Alabama in Week 5.
