Virginia Tech Hokies on Freak List

#1 Da'Quan Felton, WR

Da'Quan Felton is entering his fourth season in college football and second at Virginia Tech. The 6-foot-5 wide receiver recorded 38 receptions for 667 yards and eight touchdowns, and Feldman had this to say about Felton as for why he is a freak:

"He has hit 22.40 mph, broad-jumped 10-8 and run a 4.42 in the 40 to go with his 36.5 inch vertical," Feldman wrote.

#2 Bhayshul Tuten, RB

Bhayshul Tuten is entering his fourth college football season and third at Virginia Tech.

Tuten is the Hokies' starting running back, and Feldman had this to say as to why he is on the freak list:

"This offseason, the 5-11, 208-pounder clocked a 4.32 40, reached a 23.15 MPH max velocity, bench pressed 400 pounds and had a vertical jump of 39 inches."

Tuten rushed for 863 yards on 173 carries and 10 touchdowns. He also added 239 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

#3 Kemari Copeland, DL

Kemari Copeland transferred from Iowa Western CC after playing for the Army in 2022.

After playing at Juco, Copeland will be a big part of the Hokies defense in 2024, and Feldman wrote this about the defensive lineman:

"It has been his work in the weight room that’s really generated buzz; the 6-3, 282-pounder went viral after video of his squatting 605 pounds for 10 reps was posted on social media. Copeland, who began his college career at Army, has squatted 785 pounds and benched 485 since arriving in Blacksburg. He was clocked at 20.0 mph this offseason."

At Army in 2022, Copeland had just two tackles. The upcoming season will see him carry a much bigger load of expectations.
