The 2024 college football season is in full swing as the calendar has turned to Week 4. The first weeks of the year have brought plenty of shocking upsets and wins that could have big implications when the College Football Playoff committee meets later this year.

There have also been several players who have made a big impact this year. Here's a closer look at the top five wide receivers in the early portion of the college football season.

#1. Travis Hunter

Travis Hunter initially joined the Jackson State Tigers as a five-star prospect, and the top-ranked overall prospect, in the 2022 recruiting class. He has shined on both sides of the ball since joining the Colorado Buffaloes via the transfer portal ahead of the 2023 college football season. Hunter has caught 30 passes for 342 yards and five touchdowns so far this season.

#2. Nick Nash

Nick Nash joined the San Jose State Spartans as a two-star quarterback prospect in the 2018 recruiting class. After a breakout 2023 season in his first year as a full-time wide receiver, he leads the nation in all three major receiving categories with 34 receptions, 485 receiving yards and six receiving touchdowns.

#3. Tetairoa McMillan

Tetairoa McMillan joined the Arizona Wildcats as a four-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting class. After two strong seasons to begin his collegiate career, he has continued to play well, catching 23 passes for 453 yards and four touchdowns.

#4. Tai Felton

Tai Felton joined the Maryland Terrapins as a three-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting class. He has been among the breakout stars of the 2024 season as he has caught 27 passes for 447 yards and four touchdowns. He appears to be in line to shatter his career highs in all three categories.

#5. Tre Harris

Tre Harris initially joined the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs as a two-star prospect in the 2020 recruiting class. After a strong redshirt sophomore season in 2022, he joined the Ole Miss Rebels via the transfer portal. He is on pace to have the best season of his career as he has recorded 403 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 27 receptions.
