The 2024 college football season is in full swing as the calendar turns to Week 5. There have already been several shocking upsets and big-time wins that could have major College Football Playoff implications later this season.

There has also been plenty of big-time plays from wide receivers in the early portion of the season.

Here's a closer look at 10 wide receivers to watch out for heading into Week 5 of the college football season.

Top 10 wide receivers to watch out for in Week 5 of college football season

#1. Travis Hunter

Travis Hunter initially joined the Jackson State Tigers as a five-star prospect, and the top-ranked overall prospect, in the 2022 recruiting class. He has shined on both sides of the ball since joining the Colorado Buffaloes via the transfer portal ahead of the 2023 college football season. Hunter has caught 37 passes for 472 yards and five touchdowns so far this season.

#2. Nick Nash

Nick Nash joined the San Jose State Spartans as a two-star quarterback prospect in the 2018 recruiting class. After a breakout 2023 season in his first year as a full-time wide receiver, he leads the nation in all three major receiving categories with 50 receptions, 637 receiving yards and eight receiving touchdowns.

#3. Tai Felton

Tai Felton joined the Maryland Terrapins as a three-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting class. He has been among the biggest breakout stars of the 2024 season as he has caught 41 passes for 604 yards and five touchdowns.

#4. Tre Harris

Tre Harris initially joined the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs as a two-star prospect in the 2020 recruiting class. After a strong redshirt sophomore season in 2022, he joined the Ole Miss Rebels via the transfer portal. He has recorded 628 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 38 receptions.

#5. Tetairoa McMillan

Tetairoa McMillan joined the Arizona Wildcats as a four-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting class. He has caught 23 passes for 453 yards and four touchdowns.

#6. Jack Bech

Jack Bech initially joined the LSU Tigers as a three-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting class. After two seasons, he joined the TCU Horned Frogs via the transfer portal. He is in the midst of the best season of his collegiate career as he has recorded 516 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 25 receptions.

#7. Devonte Ross

Devonte Ross initially joined the Kentucky Wildcats as a three-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting class. After seeing no action and redshirting his true freshman season, he joined the Troy Trojans via the transfer portal. He is also having a career year, with 26 receptions for 500 yards and six touchdowns.

#8. Pat Bryant

Pat Bryant joined the Illinois Fighting Illini as a three-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting class. He has caught 20 passes for 309 yards and six touchdowns.

#9. Keandre Lambert-Smith

Keandre Lambert-Smith initially joined the Penn State Nittany Lions as a four-star prospect in the 2020 recruiting class. After spending four years with the program, he joined the Auburn Tigers via the transfer portal. He has hauled in 12 passes for 338 yards and five touchdowns.

#10. Xavier Restrepo

Xavier Restrepo joined the Miami Hurricanes as a three-star prospect in the 2020 recruiting class. After a breakout season last year, he continues to shine with 20 receptions for 362 yards and five touchdowns.
