Utah QB Cam Rising has been with the program since 2019 after transferring from Texas. However, a myriad of injuries has cast a shadow on the QB's performance and his collegiate career. When healthy, Rising is one of the most reliable quarterbacks in college football.

After not playing last season due to a medical redshirt, Rising made a comeback this season. But during Utah's Week 2 showdown against Baylor, Rising suffered another injury when he hurt his throwing hand. After missing the last three games due to the injury, Rising returned this week to play against Arizona State.

However, the quarterback is once again in the danger zone as he was seen hobbling on the field after a tackle in the first half of the Week 7 game. Despite this, he continued to play against the Sun Devils.

Fans took to social media to react to Rising's unfortunate timeline of injuries.

One fan said:

"Bro this is just elder abuse now."

Another fan wrote:

"Keep this man away from the Rose Bowl."

One fan joked:

"Dude is going to play college football with his son ala LeBron."

One fan was left in shock looking at the timeline of Cam Rising's injuries and wrote:

Another fan had a rather interesting take on the whole situation surrounding Rising's myriad of injuries:

"Was switched at birth by the Falling family."

Cam Rising's performance against Arizona State

The Sun Devils secured a two-game winning streak after defeating Utah 27-19 in Week 7. Rising did not have any significant impact in the game and failed to be efficient in the Utes' offense.

Rising's passing accuracy was not up to the mark to help Utah have any impact in the game. He finished the night completing just 16 of the 37 passes he attempted against Arizona State and recorded a total of 209 passing yards while throwing three interceptions.

Following this disappointing performance, head coach Kyle Whittingham now has to make a decision about Rising's role as the team's starter. In his absence, freshman Isaac Wilson showcased his talents on the field winning two of the three games he played as the QB1 for Utah. Thus, fans might be seeing a change in the QB depth chart ahead of Utah's next game against TCU.
