Texas Tech and Adidas unveiled a new football uniform on Thursday, featuring Patrick Mahomes' Gladiator logo. This comes as the apparel brand started its partnership journey with the school in July, following the Red Raiders' decision to end their long-term union with Under Armour.

The development marks the first time in history an athlete's personal brand has been incorporated into a team's on-field uniform. The Mahomes Strategy uniforms showcase a sleek Dark Grey tackle twill, enhanced by printed metallic films and striking Power Red accents, creating a bold and modern look.

Patrick Mahomes happy to have his logo on Texas Tech uniform

Patrick Mahomes expressed his excitement at the release of the Mahomes Strategy uniform. The quarterback is happy to have his logo on the Red Raiders on-field uniform, a testament to his unrivaled legacy at the school. Texas Tech plays in the uniform against Colorado on Nov. 9.

“Seeing my own logo on the Texas Tech uniform I put so much blood, sweat and tears in is one of the most meaningful off-field accomplishments of my career,” Mahomes, a Texas Tech alum, said. “I want to thank the three-stripe family for giving me this one-of-a-kind opportunity.”

Mahomes played a pivotal role in fostering the partnership between Adidas and Texas Tech. The two officially began their 10-year partnership journey this summer after agreeing to a deal earlier. The quarterback entered the apparel brand’s roster in his NFL rookie season.

Following the unveiling of the new uniform, Red Raiders fans can look forward to additional products with the Gladiator logo from Texas Tech and Patrick Mahomes. This lineup will include a dark grey quarter-zip, a fleece hoodie and a new colorway of the Ultraboost 5X.

Patrick Mahomes spent his college football career at Texas Tech from 2014 to 2016. He appeared in 32 games for the Red Raiders in three seasons, starting 29 of them. The quarterback threw for 11,252 yards and 93 touchdowns, while also rushing for 820 yards and 22 touchdowns.
