South Carolina Gamecocks (3-1) senior running back Raheim Sanders has been practicing throughout the week after suffering an ankle injury in the Gamecocks 50-7 win over Akron last week. However, head coach Shane Beamer did not provide a definitive update on the status of his injured players, including Sanders, but did say his team was "in pretty good shape."

Sanders injured his ankle early in last Saturday's game against Akron. He did not return to the game after the injury but was later seen on the sideline wearing a boot. The severity of his injury was not revealed by the coaching staff.

In the final injury report released before South Carolina's game against number 12 ranked Ole Miss (4-1) on Saturday, Sanders was listed as probable for the game. So, it is likely that the coaching staff expects him to play, but will make a final decision during warmups.

In an update on Oct. 2, coach Beamer had shared that Sanders was practicing and recovering from injury.

What impact does Raheim Sanders have on the South Carolina offense?

Raheim Sanders, a transfer from Arkansas, has had a big impact on the Gamecocks' offense this season. He leads the team with 286 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Him leading the team is particularly impressive considering he played only briefly in the game against Akron. In that game, he recorded one carry for one yard and one reception for six yards.

If Raheim Sanders is unable to play against Ole Miss, the Gamecocks will need to rely on its backup running backs, Oscar Adaway III and Juju McDowell, to carry the load. However, it is unlikely that either will have the same impact as Sanders.

Fortunately, for the Gamecocks, it is looking likely that Sanders will play against Ole Miss. However, it remains to be seen how much of a workload he will be given if he is in the lineup. It is possible that Adaway and McDowell get some snaps to soften Sanders' load as he recovers from the injury.
