One of the most contentious picks from J.D. PicKell is Ole Miss at No. 5. Several fans believe the Rebels shouldn't be ranked that high.

"Ole Miss is overrated," a fan wrote.

Another hot topic is Nebraska, whom PicKell placed at the 24th spot. Fans argued whether the Cornhuskers deserved the higher ranking, given the progress made under second-year coach Matt Rhule. Although they may not yet be in contention for a Big Ten title, there has been an expectation of a significant leap in the upcoming season.

"Nebraska should be higher," a post read.
"As a Nebraska fan please leave us off this until further notice," one fan wrote.

Here is how other fans reacted to the list:

"JD my boy… I love ya dog but Texas > Oregon??" a netizen wrote.
"No gators!?" one fan posted.
"Where’s Lolorado?" a user wrote.

However, Georgia’s position as the team to beat is less controversial. The Bulldogs' dominance over the past few seasons proves their caliber on the field. Returning a significant portion of their roster from last season's 13-1 team makes their top billing almost a consensus among analysts.

Ohio State, ranked second, is aiming to build on its 11-1 regular season finish. The Buckeyes have earned praise for their aggressive moves in the transfer portal.

J.D. PicKell labels Missouri as the most swagger in all of CFB

Missouri is looking like a balanced football team with several promising players. J.D. PicKell might have ranked the Tigers 10th in his post-spring rankings, but he had huge accolades for the team.

"This (Missouri) might be the swaggiest team in college football based on attitude perspectives," PicKell said. "And it all starts at the top with coach drinks. Like we had him at SEC media days."

At the center of this swagger-infused squad is coach Eliah Drinkwitz, whose leadership has set the tone for the entire program. J.D. PicKell mentioned the talent within the team, singling out quarterback Brady Cook and wide receiver Luther Burden as standout players.

"Brady Cook brings that to the table," J.D. PicKell said. "Luther Burden may very well be the best wide receiver in college football. They bring back 79% production from last year's offense that scored 32 points a game. They bring back 68% production as a whole team that won eleven games last year and won the cotton ball and beat Ohio."

The analyst also lauded Missouri's ability to clinch close victories, winning four games by just one point last season.

Missouri will be facing formidable opponents such as Texas A&M and Alabama on the road in the upcoming season. But the school's schedule also presents opportunities for success, notably with key matchups against Oklahoma at home. Securing a victory against one of these toughest opponents could pave the way for a spot in the College Football Playoff.
