The Ole Miss Rebels head coach talked about his father's impact during the SEC Media Days. During the event in Dallas, Lane said that his father had a profound impact on his life and always worked on helping other people during their times of turmoil.

He also talked about the support he received from former players and coaches after his dad's demise

"It's just been an amazing outpouring of support, of stories from fromer players, former coaches, especially former staff of people in the building and how many friends came out of that," Lane said.
"He used this term and now I'm using this term in description of him because I feel like there's very few superheroes, there's very few great ones that loved everyone and tried to help everyone they came in touch with forever. Whether you were big or small, whoever you were, he tried to help."
