With no injuries to report, Jack Lausch is expected to remain under center for the Wildcats. The quarterback seems to have impressed Wildcats coach David Braun, earning the starting spot over senior quarterback Mike Wright.

In his first two years with the program, Lausch saw little action. He was set to back up Wright this season, but after disappointing results, Braun decided to make the switch.

Wright had thrown for 354 yards on a 57.6% pass completion rate, resulting in zero touchdowns and one interception.

Jack Lausch's performance in the 2024 season

Despite not being the primary starter, Jack Lausch seems to have adapted to the team's offense. He's already thrown four touchdown passes to his route runners and has set a single-game career high.

In his Week 3 game against Eastern Illinois, he passed for 227 yards, including two touchdowns. The dual-threat quarterback also rushed for 62 yards on seven carries.

Lausch followed that up with a lackluster performance against Washington's defense, throwing for just 53 yards on 8-of-27 attempts, including two interceptions. He also struggled on the ground, rushing for just 21 yards on 13 carries, averaging a dismal 1.6 yards per carry.

In the 41-24 defeat against the Hoosiers last week, Lausch had his best performance of the season, registering 243 passing yards for two touchdowns with a 60.5% completion rate. On the ground, he rushed for 34 yards on nine carries.

Oddsmakers don't favor David Braun's Northwestern Wildcats against the Maryland Terrapins. Northwestern enters this game as a 10.5-point underdog.
