NBA’s 7-foot-3 giant stuns Coach Prime during Colorado visit: “Thought he was on somebody’s shoulders”

Deion Sanders, a.k.a. Coach Prime, usually commands all the attention with his charisma and undeniable presence, but even he has his moments of awe. One of those came when he met Bol Bol, the 7-foot-3 basketball player who is the son of late NBA star Manute Bol.

Coach Prime had a "wow" moment that he’ll never forget—watching the tallest man he has ever seen in action. During his appearance on "Colorado Loves" with host Romi Bean, the Pro Football Hall of Famer shared his reaction to seeing Bol at the Colorado game.

“I saw the tallest human being I’ve ever seen in my life… I wanted to suit him up and throw him a fade… I thought he was on somebody’s shoulders,” Sanders joked, clearly blown away by Bol’s height.

Coach Prime even admitted that he couldn’t focus on the game because his gaze followed Bol.

Bol Bol played college basketball for the Oregon Ducks in 2018 and was drafted by the Miami Heat in 2019. However, he was soon traded to Denver and spent the majority of his early career with the Nuggets.

Despite being seen as a high-ceiling prospect due to his size, shooting ability, and shot-blocking skills, he struggled to earn consistent playing time. In January 2022, he was traded to the Pistons but the deal was voided because he failed a physical.

Later that year, he was traded to the Orlando Magic, where he finally saw an uptick in his minutes and production during the 2022-23 season.

In July 2023, the Phoenix Suns signed him on a one-year contract to add depth to their frontcourt.

Coach Prime is trying his best to keep the Colorado Buffaloes in the game

Deion Sanders is doing everything he can to keep the Colorado Buffaloes (4-2, 2-1, Big 12) in the game after their massive 31-28 loss to No.17 Kansas State Wildcats (5-1, 2-1, Big 12).

The Buffs narrowly missed the cut as quarterback Shedeur Sanders failed to deliver in the last moments, making a crucial mistake. Sanders attempted a deep ball to WR Will Sheppard instead of attempting a safer pass for the fourth-and-five.

His father and coach, Deion Sanders, isn’t letting his team wallow in the setback. In true "Prime Time" fashion, he called out some players for getting too comfortable:

“Fans only blow when you're hot. Some of you started believing what they said about you, which was a huge mistake. Now, they uplift you, and you understand that fans only blow when you're hot. They're not blowing right now, are they?”

Coach Prime's message that fans only support you when you're winning may ring true with many. However, the truth has been different for the Buffs, who received national attention last season despite their 4-8 finish.
