Mike Locksley's Maryland Terrapins will be on the road to take on the Indiana Hoosiers in their backyard on Saturday at Memorial Field in Bloomington, Indiana. This will be the 13th time these two programs will meet each other.

The Hoosiers lead the all-time series 7-5; however, the Terrapins have won the last three games in this matchup.

Billy Edwards Jr. has started all games under center so far for the Terrapins this season.

Will Billy Edwards Jr. continue to start for Maryland in Week 5?

Billy Edwards Jr. is expected to start for the Terrapins on Saturday, barring any injury setbacks.

Edwards joined the Terrapins' program as a freshman in 2022. In his first season, he saw limited action, throwing for 308 yards and three touchdowns on a 60.9% pass completion rate. The following year, he was efficient as a rushing quarterback, running for seven touchdowns.

Billy Edwards Jr.'s performance in first four games of 2024 season

In Week 1's 50-7 win over Uconn, Edwards threw for 311 yards and two touchdowns on 20 of 27 pass attempts. He ran for 39 yards on five carries.

In his second game, a 27-24 loss to Michigan State, Edwards threw for 253 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He ran for 13 yards on six carries and one touchdown.

During Week 3's 27-13 win over Virginia, Billy Edwards Jr. threw for 263 yards and two touchdowns on 28 of 43 pass attempts. Meanwhile, he added one rushing score as well.

Finally, in last week's 38-20 win over Villanova, Edwards had his most efficient game, completing 28 of 32 passes for 328 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

“Our offensive line is a work in progress,” coach Michael Locksley said. “We’re doing a great job of protecting our quarterback. [But] sometimes sacks aren’t always offensive-line driven.”

Mike Locksley would like Billy Edwards Jr. to clinch an underdog victory for the Terrapins and continue their winning momentum.
