Lane Kiffin's daughter Landry celebrates her birthday in December, coinciding with the College Football Playoff. After the introduction of the 12-team format in 2024, Kiffin's Ole Miss has a great chance of securing a playoff spot.

Landry posted a video featuring her father on TikTok on Sunday and discussed the subject. In the "Get Ready with Me" video, the two discussed a range of subjects, including Landry's birthday plan ahead of Ole Miss' game against Georgia Southern.

"So I've been thinking about planning my birthday, and I think I want to go to New York during December again," Landry said.

"OK, it's really crowded and cold," Lane replied.
"Not really, it's so fun," Landry said.
"We could ice skate," Lane suggested. "Um, wait, we're supposed to like, hopefully, be in the playoffs. Hmm."

Lane Kiffin has a lot of respect for Kentucky’s defense

After a strong start to the 2024 season, Ole Miss kicks off its conference play at home against Kentucky in Oxford in Week 5. Rebels coach Lane Kiffin holds a great deal of respect for the Wildcats' defense, acknowledging the test they will present to his team.

“They very much look like an NFL defense from structure and a size standpoint and coverages and techniques. That's why a lot of people struggle against them and games seem a lot more like NFL games. It's hard to make yards and hard to run the ball.”

Ole Miss has dominated all of its opponents this season in non-conference plays. The team aims to keep this momentum going in the conference play as it pushes for a spot in the College Football Playoff, with every game now carrying heightened significance.

Lane Kiffin talks about the strength of the Southeastern Conference

Ahead of the commencement of Ole Miss’ conference play for the 2024 college football season, Lane Kiffin offered his review on the strength of the SEC. With the addition of Texas and Oklahoma this season, the coach sees a heightened competition in the ever-tough league.

“It’s always been the best conference and you’ve added two, probably top-10 traditional powers in the history of college football — in Texas and Oklahoma — into what was already the best conference," Kiffin said to Ole Miss media on a Zoom call on Sunday.
“It’s extremely competitive. I think it’s distanced itself from everyone else even more. I think kids around the country continue to go to more and more to the SEC,” he added.

Texas has been dominant this season, blowing out all its opponents so far and climbing to the top of the AP Poll. Oklahoma, on the other hand, only recorded its first loss of the season against Tennessee last week. The two teams bring a high level of competitiveness to the SEC.
