The Ole Miss Rebels (4-1) started their game against the South Carolina Gamecocks (3-1) on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET, and the status of running back Henry Parrish was a concern for the Rebels. However, after observing him participate in warmups, the coaching staff determined he was ready to play.

Parrish is playing in today's game against the Gamecocks and is expected to be a full participant. With Parrish in the lineup, Ole Miss' running back group is at full strength.

In last Saturday's 20-17 loss to Kentucky, Parrish left the game twice due to injury. He first exited briefly after suffering an apparent ankle injury but was able to return shortly after. However, he soon had to leave again after a significant hit while running to the right side of the line. After making contact with a wall of defenders, Parrish was shaken up and exited the game.

Despite this, Parrish returned to the game again in the fourth quarter and finished the game.

How does having Henry Parrish in the lineup help the Ole Miss Rebels?

Henry Parrish is a fifth-year senior in his second stint with the Ole Miss Rebels. he was with the team in 2020 and 2021 before transferring to Miami. However, he entered the transfer portal again this past off-season and rejoined Ole Miss. So far this season, he has 70 carries, 489 rushing yards, and eight touchdowns. He has been one of the most impactful players on the Ole Miss offense.

His presence in the Rebels' offense is a big part of what makes it click. Ole Miss has one of the best offenses in the nation because it plays at a fast pace. The team uses a balanced attack, almost evenly using running and passing plays.

If Henry Parrish was not in the lineup, it would not have been as practical for the Rebels to use this strategy. They would need to rely more on the passing game, which would limit the offense.
