Another fun video featuring the energetic FSU Cheerleaders performing under the stadium lights entertained fans and highlighted the vibrant atmosphere.

On the field, the Seminoles' defense shone brightly, recording seven sacks and securing their first victory of 2024. Despite starting the preseason ranked in the top 10, Florida State faced a tough stretch with three consecutive losses. However, on Saturday, they proved their skill against the Golden Bears.

Quarterback DJ Uiagalelei had an up-and-down game, going 16 -27 for 177 yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Cal’s QB Fernando Mendoza put up impressive numbers, finishing with 22 completions on 36 attempts for a season-best 303 yards, though he did throw an interception.

Florida State finally closed out a game

Florida State head coach Mike Norvell expressed pride in his team after the win. Speaking to the media, Norvell praised his players for their dedication throughout the week during practice:

“I will say that I was so proud of our team for how they approached the work this week in practice,” he said. “There was energy. There was competitiveness. Guys were really pushing each other. I thought that showed up today.”

“When you face disappointing outcomes, there is a lot of things around you that can get in your mind and that you might want to pull back, might want to just hold,” he added. “But these guys, they didn't get distracted. They continued to believe, continued to push.”
“I thought the week of practice showed up big today in just how we were able to respond throughout the course of the game.”

The Seminoles' defense delivered when it counted, securing the win with a vital stop in the final moments. Despite being outgained by 126 yards, they limited Cal to only two red-zone conversions out of five, with the Golden Bears missing two crucial field goals.

It wasn’t a flawless performance, but Florida State finally closed out a game—something worth celebrating.
