Travis Hunter is regarded as one of the best two-way players in college football. He began his collegiate journey playing for Deion Sanders at Jackson State before transferring to Colorado last season. In his debut Buffs campaign, Hunter won the Paul Hornung Award for his versatility on the field.

Hunter has once again been a key player for Colorado on the field. During an appearance on Outta Pocket with RGIII on Wednesday, the two-way star confidently talked about being a top contender for the Heisman this year.

Travis Hunter compared his stats with Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty and said if he focuses only on playing offense, he could put up incredible numbers at the end of the season.

"I know I can win it. But, I don't know who's there. I mean y'all see Ashton Jeanty but it's not like we haven't seen a running back that' good. We haven't seen a player that plays both ways. And I'm going to keep saying that," Hunter said.
"He had 95 carries? For a thousand yards? If I had 95 catches how much yards do you think I have? If I had 95 targets on defense what you'd think I would have? If I had 95 catches on offense, what you think I would have? So I try to take it like ... he got double the catches I got on the offensive side of ball and I still got defensive stats that's still crazy and we only in week 6."

Six games into Colorado's Big 12 reunion season, Travis Hunter has recorded 587 receiving yards for 49 catches. Moreover, he has made 16 tackles along with two interceptions and three passes defended.

Travis Hunter will be coming back from injury to play against Arizona

During week 7's loss to Kansas State, the Colorado two-way star injured his shoulder in the first half when he ran at full speed into Wildcats safety Daniel Cobbs. Hunter left the game and did not return.

During Tuesday's press conference, Deion Sanders provided an update on Hunter's injury. He said the two-way star will be available for Colorado's Week 8 clash with Arizona.

"Travis should play for certain on Saturday," Coach Prime said.

Apart from Hunter, Jimmy Horn Jr. who also injured himself in week 7, is likely to be available as well. Omarion Miller is expected to miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery for his injury. With Travis Hunter back in the mix, the Buffs should have a good boost to their offensive firepower.
