Lane Kiffin is rumored to replace Billy Napier as the Florida Gators' coach. While Napier remains the team's sideline leader, the Gators (1-2, 0-1) have struggled this season. Analysts, including Paul Finebaum, believe Napier's uneventful time at Florida, where his record stands at 12-16, is closing.
However, many think Kiffin may balk at the Florida job. College Football insider Rece Davis is among those individuals.
"As I said earlier, I’m not the biggest fan of this, but you can’t ignore the obvious and pretend the Florida Gators won’t go after Lane Kiffin. As we sit here right now, in the current state of college football, the way player acquisitions go, and the way alignment goes, and the way the coach likes to be in charge and have things his way, Lane Kiffin has a better job right now. He is … at best making a lateral move."

Lane Kiffin has quickly turned a mid-tier program into a national title contender.
In 2023, his team had its first 11-win season, and things are only improving for the Rebels. They are currently 3-0 and have won those games convincingly.
Ole Miss is strong enough to upend any SEC team on any given week. The CFP's recent expansion to 12 teams gives the No. 5 ranked Rebels a chance to become College Football Playoff spoilers and claim a national title this fall.
