The Florida State Seminoles may make a quarterback change ahead of Week 6 after a disastrous 1-4 start to the season.

The Seminoles started the year with a 0-3 record including a 42-16 blowout loss on the road to SMU. In the loss, starting quarterback DJ Uiagalelei was benched in the fourth quarter for Brock Glenn.

In FSU's latest depth chart, the quarterback position is listed as "or" between Uiagalelei and Glenn, which was reported by CFB insider Pete Thamel.

"DJ Uiagalelei is now listed as an "or" for the starting job on the FSU depth chart. He's listed as "or" with Brock Glenn, who replaced him in the SMU game," Thamel reported.

Although Uiagalelei was benched, he also is dealing with a hand injury which played a role, apart from performance.

This season, Uiagalelei has gone 84-for-156 for 1,065 yards, four touchdowns and six interceptions. FSU had landed Uiagalelei in the transfer portal from Oregon State.

Brock Glenn, meanwhile, has gone 0-for-4 this season while in 2023, he went 19-for-51 for 229 yards and two picks. Glenn was a four-star recruit in the class of 2023. He was the 21st-ranked quarterback in the class and committed to FSU.

FSU are 15-point underdogs at home against Clemson in Week 6 on Saturday.

In FSU's blowout loss to SMU, the Seminoles benched DJ Uiagalelei in the fourth quarter.

According to FSU coach Mike Norvell, he decided to bench Uiageleli due to a minor hand injury and wanting to see Glenn in action.

"DJ has something we're going to evaluate throughout the course of the week and see where it goes from there," Norvell said on Monday, via SI. "I thought Brock, going in, in all reality I said it after the game.
"After the interception and where the game was, it was decided I was going to make the change. Obviously DJU did have the injury there as well but just wanted to see that opportunity for Brock to go in and have a chance to execute."

Norvell said the quarterback couldn't finish the game due to the injury.

"DJ didn't finish the game because one, he couldn't finish the game," Norvell said. "I've said I was going to put Brock in at that moment too but obviously right now there is a little bit of uncertainty with status."

How DJ Uiagalelei recovers through the week will help determine who starts for FSU on Saturday night against Clemson.

The Seminoles will need to go 5-2 in their final seven games to be bowl-eligible.
