The Oklahoma State Cowboys suffered their third loss of the 2024 college football season in Week 6. They fell to 3-3 overall, and 0-3 in Big 12 play after losing 38-14 to the West Virginia Mountaineers.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys have virtually no shot of reaching the College Football Playoff after an abysmal start to Big 12 play. Their odds of reaching the postseason are no longer on the board after suffering three consecutive losses to conference opponents.
After entering the season ranked 17th, Oklahoma State started the season with three consecutive wins, reaching as high as 13th in the rankings. Their season has taken a much different turn over the past three weeks.
After losing by three points at home to the then-No. 12 Utah Utes, they traveled to the then-No. 20 Kansas State Wildcats and lost by 22. They suffered their biggest loss of the season last weekend, falling to the unranked West Virginia Mountaineers by 24 points at home.
While the postseason field has grown to 12 teams, with the top five conference champions earning automatic bids and the next seven highest-ranked teams receiving at-large bids, the Cowboys would need a miracle to make the cut. Oklahoma State's focus will most likely be on winning three of their next six games to qualify for a bowl game.
