According to Yahoo Sports' Ross Dellinger, Florida State and the conference are to begin a mediation process regarding a potential exit next week.

Dellinger's report mentions that the deadline for any team to leave the conference is August 15, which is next Tuesday. However, it's believed that Florida State and Clemson may not give notice due to the hefty financial penalties tied to the Grant of Rights Agreement, which would cost the schools over half a billion dollars.

While this update isn't anything new since the deadline comes up every year, the mediation between Florida State and the Atlantic Coast Conference is a new development that might potentially help resolve their legal battle.
