During the Week 8 game between the Auburn Tigers and the 19th-ranked Missouri Tigers, Missouri quarterback Brady Cook headed to the locker room due to injury.

The injury seemingly occurred during the first quarter of the game when he was at the receiving end of a hip-drop tackle, a technique that has been banned in the NFL this season.

A few plays later, he would be taken out of the game and the announcers said that it was officially diagnosed as an ankle injury and he went to the locker room to get taped up.

Cook is expected to return to the game at some point, but is yet to do so as of this writing. Prior to the injury, Cook has gone 3-of-4 for 37 yards as well as three rushing attempts for -6 yards (-2.0 yards per carry).

UPDATE: Brady Cook would return to the game late in the third quarter and would immediately create an impact as he completed a 78-yard pass to Mookie Cooper to set up a touchdown drive. Cook would go down the field and lead a 17-play, 95-yard drive to score another touchdown and win the game.

After the game, Cook discussed his feelings as he returned to lead Missouri to a 6-1 record now.

It will be interesting to see how Cook does throughout the week and if he will be on the injury report throughout the upcoming week.

What does this injury mean for Brady Cook and the Missouri Tigers?

Brady Cook's immediate availability to return to the game seems to be a good sign for the Missouri Tigers. However, the severity of the injury and how much it will hamper him for the remainder of this game is something to keep an eye on.

Cook is a quarterback who likes to move around the pocket and is not afraid to run the football, averaging 8.3 rushing attempts in his previous three games before today. It seemingly also is the ankle on his plant foot, meaning it could affect his throwing power also.

In the meantime, backup Drew Pyne is under center for the Missouri Tigers and he has not looked too sharp in his first few possessions while the program waits for Brady Cook to return. Missouri is looking to continue climbing in the AP Poll as they are currently No. 19 in the nation and a fringe College Football Playoff team.

It will be intriguing to see how Brady Cook looks when he is able to return to the field and if the Missouri Tigers are able to win this game.
