Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans are overjoyed with the team's signing of offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs. The Buccaneers and the star left tackle have agreed to a five-year, $140.63 million contract extension.

Wirfs was entering the final year of his rookie contract, which was scheduled to pay him $18.24 million, but the extension keeps him in Tampa Bay until 2029. He was selected by the Buccaneers with the 13th overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft.

Following the signing, Buccaneers fans took to social media to heap praise on the deal.

The reactions didn't stop there, as other Buccaneers fans were thrilled with the deal.

"Deserved he’s the best tackle in the game," a fan added.
"Switched from RT to LT early in his career and has done it flawlessly when most can’t. Well deserved," a fan added.

Tampa Bay fans believe Wirfs is the best tackle in the league and the contract extension is well worth it.

NFL's highest-paid tackles ranked after Tristan Wirfs' contract extension

Once Tristan Wirf's contract extension kicks in, he will be the highest-paid offensive tackle in the NFL.

Entering the 2024 season, Detroit Lions offensive tackle Penei Sewell is the highest-paid offensive tackle at $28 million per season. Wirfs barely edges him out at $28.1 million per season.

Houston Texans tackle Laremy Tunsil is the second-highest-paid tackle in 2024, as he's set to earn $25 million. New York Giants tackle Andrew Thomas will make $23.2 million, while rounding out the top five are the Philadelphia Eagles' Jordan Maliata at $22 million and Trent Williams of the San Francisco 49ers at $20.05 million.

The 2024 NFL season will kick off on Sept. 5, when the Baltimore Ravens take on the Kansas City Chiefs.
