Auburn vs. Missouri kicked off at 12 p.m. ET on Saturday. The No. 19 Missouri Tigers (5-1) are hosting the Auburn Tigers (2-4). Before the game started, Auburn was coming off a three-game losing streak. Meanwhile, Auburn entered the matchup on the back of an open week, but before that, it lost 31-13 to No. 5 Georgia.

Missouri will look to continue its momentum after bouncing back last Saturday with a 45-3 win over the University of Massachusetts. The Tigers had previously lost their first game of the season 41-10 to No. 14 Texas A&M.

Before the game started, Missouri was the betting favorite to win with -180 odds. Auburn was given +150 odds as the underdog. Despite different records, the spread was only set at four points in Missouri's favor, so the sportsbooks did not see this game as a foregone conclusion.

Auburn vs Missouri summary

Missouri entered the game as the betting favorite. However, things changed early in the game when Missouri quarterback Brady Cook went down with an injury. The injury occurred on Missouri’s first drive of the game. Backup Drew Pyne replaced him.

Pyne started the game strong, helping Missouri get far enough down the field to score a field goal. The next drive ended similarly, with Missouri attempting a field goal, but it was no good this time.

Auburn got on the board for the first time early in the second quarter with a field goal to tie the score at three. The game became a game of mistakes as both teams fumbled on their next drives. Missouri would take advantage to get in field goal range, but the kick was missed again. As a result, the first half ended tied 3-3.

Although the first half of the game saw both teams struggle offensively, the second half had both teams emerge offensively at different times. In the third quarter, Auburn exploded offensively in the first five minutes. Auburn scored a touchdown on the first drive, forced Missouri to punt after three plays, then scored again. Missouri only answered back with a field goal in the third quarter.

However, the fourth quarter went in the opposite direction. Missouri. Brady Cook returned to the game at the end of the third quarter and scored on a drive that continued into the start of the fourth quarter. Then, after several failed drives by both teams, Cook led Missouri 95 yards down the field for a touchdown to take a 21-17 lead that would hold until the end of the game.
