Week 6 of the 2024 college football season will soon be underway, and one of the most anticipated showdowns is Missouri vs Texas A&M. The No. 9-ranked Missouri Tigers (4-0) will travel to the home of the No. 25-ranked Texas A&M Aggies (4-1) for what should be one of the best matchups of Week 6.
Missouri is coming off an open week after winning its first four games of the season. The Tigers most recently defeated Vanderbilt 30-27. Texas A&M has won its previous four games, including a 21-17 win last week over Arkansas. Its only loss of the season came in Week 1 to No. 14 Notre Dame.

Looking at how Missouri has performed this season, it is clear that the Tigers are better defensively than they are offensively. Missouri was not even scored on until its third game of the season. The Tigers had a 51-0 shutout victory over Murray State in Week 1 and got a 38-0 shutout over Buffalo in Week 2. Although those are lesser opponents, to not allow two teams in a row to score is impressive.
In their next two contests, the Tigers allowed a total of 48 points in close games. Missouri's offensive output has been steady since its 51-point outburst in Week 1. In three games since, the Tigers have put up 38, 27 and 30 points.
Texas A&M has also performed well defensively, limiting its opponents to a maximum of 23 points through its first five games of the season. The most points the Aggies allowed was 23 against Notre Dame in a losing effort in Week 1. They then allowed 10, 20, 20 and 17 points in each of the next four outings.
Offensively, the Aggies have been limited outside of a 52-point outburst in Week 2 against McNeese State. The other four games have seen the Aggies score 13, 33, 26 and 21 points.
After looking at both teams, it looks like it is going to be a defensive showdown between two ranked opponents. Texas A&M has had a more difficult schedule, but it is hard to argue against a team that is undefeated in Missouri. Additionally, with the Tigers coming off an open week and rested, we are going to pick them to win this matchup in a low-scoring game.
