There is an intriguing Friday night Big Ten Conference battle as the Michigan State Spartans head to Autzen Stadium to take on the No. 6 Oregon Ducks. Both teams have been playing well throughout the beginning stages of the season.

The Spartans (3-2, 1-1 Big Ten) are looking to snap their current two-game losing streak after a 38-7 home loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday. Sophomore quarterback Aidan Chiles did a decent job under center as he went 13-of-19 for 167 yards with one touchdown pass to one interception.

The Ducks, meanwhile, (4-0, 1-0) have been able to navigate a rocky start to the season as they defeated the UCLA Bruins on the road Saturday by a final score of 34-13. Senior quarterback Dillon Gabriel played well as he finished 31-of-41 for 278 yards with three touchdown passes to one interception while also running three times for 23 yards (7.7 yards per attempt).

Michigan State vs. Oregon prediction

Both Michigan State and Oregon have stepped up defensively throughout the season, with each having just one blip on the radar. Outside of that, there have been under 25 points against them in each game this season. The under has hit in four of the first five games for the Spartans this season as well as in two of the four games for the Ducks thus far.

Dillon Gabriel has looked like one of the top quarterbacks in all of college football and should be able to dominate in this matchup. He has thrown for 298 yards per game thus far with this Ducks offense. Oregon's receivers do not drop many passes and the offensive line does not allow many sacks so with a team that does not run the ball much, this seemingly is in play.

The passing touchdowns are another situation as Dillon Gabriel is coming off a three-passing touchdown game. The Ducks have multiple threats for him to throw to and make people miss so the team does not even need to be in the red zone for the threat to be there. Expect 3+ passing touchdowns and 300+ passing yards out of Gabriel as he continues his Heisman Trophy season.

Michigan State vs. Oregon head-to-head

Both teams are new to being conference opponents so there have not been many meetings against one another as this is just the eighth meeting between them. Oregon currently holds a 4-3 advantage in the head-to-head with their win in the 2018 season. That game was a low-scoring affair in Santa Clara during the Redbox Bowl, where the Ducks picked up a 7-6 victory.
