Louisville is a seven-point favorite on the road against Virginia, while the over/under is set at 54.5 points.

The Cardinals are off to a 3-2 start and are coming off of a loss to SMU. In their last loss, Louisville was led by Tyler Shough who threw for 329 yards, two touchdowns and a pick.

It was an upset loss, as Cardinals coach Jeff Brohm took the fall for the loss, via SI:

“Disappointing loss without question. So that falls on me, that falls on coaches. The plan was not good, it was not executed. Way too many mistakes. A really bad performance, especially on our home field. We have got a lot of work to do.
"That is what makes football a team sport, a tough game. You can either suck it up and find ways to fix it and improve or you can pout about it, sulk and feel sorry for yourself. So we have to look in the mirror and get a better plan together so that we can start better, play better in all three segments and then finish better and that did not happen today.”

Louisville has been led by Shough who has thrown for 1,443 yards, 13 touchdowns and two interceptions. Defensively, the Cardinals are led by Tramel Logan who has 3 sacks and Stanquan Clark who has 31 tackles.

Virginia, meanwhile, has been a surprise team this season, as the Cavaliers are 4-1. Virginia is coming off a win over Boston College. In the win, the Cavaliers were led by their defense which forced two turnovers. Virginia trailed by 14 and scored 24 straight points to get the win, including 18 in the fourth quarter.

“They accepted the challenge,” Virginia coach Tony Elliott said, via ESPN. “They found a way to persevere through it. They didn’t get down. They didn’t start pointing fingers. They all looked at themselves in the mirror and said, ‘Hey, we’re going to figure out what it takes.’”

Virginia has been led by QB Anthony Colandrea who has thrown for 1,211 yards, eight touchdowns and four interceptions. Defensively, the Cavaliers have recorded 10 sacks, while Antonio Clary leads the team with 48 tackles.

Virginia being seven-point underdogs at home is a surprise. Louisville is already coming off an upset loss to SMU, so the Cardinals should come into this game with a chip on their shoulder.

The game should come down to the wire, with Lousiville getting a road win.

Prediction: Louisville 28, Virginia 24
