The Buffaloes are coming off a close loss to Kansas State at home, as Colorado had a chance to become a ranked team with a win. In the loss, Shedeur Sanders threw for 388 yards and three touchdowns. Meanwhile, the defense limited Kansas State QB Avery Johnson to just 224 yards and even got an interception, but it wasn't enough.

“So the guys took it upon themselves, and they came out there with certainly a different attitude,” CU coach Deion Sanders said of the loss to Kansas State. "Sometimes you get intoxicated a little bit with winning and start thinking that you really like that. And this Saturday was a wake up call for a multitude of us.”

Colorado has been led by its offense, run by Shedeur Sanders, who should be a top pick in the 2025 NFL draft. Sanders has thrown for 2,018 yards, 17 touchdowns and four interceptions.

One thing to monitor for Colorado is the status of star two-way player Travis Hunter. He suffered a shoulder injury last week, but Deion Sanders said he expects the star player to play.

"Travis should play for certain," Sanders said, via ESPN.

Defensively, the Buffaloes are led by Taje McCoy, who has three sacks, while Nikhai Hill-Green leads the team with 45 tackles.

Meanwhile, Arizona is coming off a blowout road loss to BYU. The Wildcats struggled offensively as quarterback Noah Fifita threw three interceptions.

After the loss, Fifita put the blame on himself, saying he needed to be much better going into the game against Colorado.

“I gotta fix a lot of things,” Fifita said, via ArizonaSports. “I gotta get better individually. Just not even close to where I want to be individually, not close to where we need to be offensively and it’s because of me.”

This season, Fifita has thrown for 1,636 yards, eight touchdowns and nine interceptions. Arizona on offense is also led by Quali Conley, who has rushed for 458 yards and six touchdowns, while receiver Tetairoa McMillan leads the way with 742 yards and four touchdowns.

Expect this to be a competitive game, but Colorado should be able to go on the road and upset Arizona to keep it in contention in the Big 12. The Buffaloes likely need to win out, and Shedeur Sanders should be able to have success against this Wildcats defense that struggled mightily against BYU.

Travis Hunter is also expected to play, which is a big boost to Colorado's offense and defense.

Prediction: Colorado 34, Arizona 28
