A battle of massive offensive threats is set for Week 2 of the college football season in Rice-Eccles Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Baylor Bears are gearing up to take on the 11th-ranked Utah Utes in nonconference action.

The Bears (1-0) are coming off a 45-3 home win over the Tarleton State Texans last Saturday while the Utes (1-0) opened their season with a dominant 49-0 home win last Thursday against the Southern Utah Thunderbirds. This game is one of the more intriguing ones on the slate so let's dive a bit deeper into it.

We are getting a lot of line value as this game opened with Utah -17 and has dropped to 14.5 points. Cameron Rising is healthy after missing all of the 2023 season and the Utes defense is going to be one of the best in the country. He looked as sharp as he had five touchdown passes in Week 1.

Baylor is going to be a good team so do not expect this to be a massive blowout in any aspect. Dequan Finn did have a pair of interceptions against Tarleton State, which is nowhere in the same stratosphere as this Utah defense will be. Expect Utah to dominate with coach Kyle Whittingham calling the shots as they are one of the best overall teams in college football.

Baylor vs. Utah betting tips

Baylor vs. Utah head-to-head

The Baylor Bears and the Utah Utes are not very familiar with one another as this is just the second time these programs are facing each other. The previous game took place last season on September 9 in Waco, Texas. The Utes were able to go on the road and secure a 20-13 victory.
