We have an exciting American Athletic Conference matchup on deck Thursday evening as the Army Black Knights are heading to Lincoln Financial Stadium to take on the Temple Owls. These teams are on two different levels so far and this can be a great test for them.

The Black Knights (3-0, 2-0 AAC) are looking to remain undefeated as they are coming off Saturday's 37-14 home victory over the Rice Owls.

Senior quarterback Bryson Daily had a strong game as he finished 6-of-9 for 107 yards with a pair of passing touchdowns. He ran the ball 23 times for 145 yards (6.3 yards per attempt) with three rushing touchdowns.

The Owls (1-3, 0-1) are looking to build off their 45-29 victory against the Utah State Aggies on Saturday.

Junior quarterback Evan Simon dominated the opposing defense as he went 17-of-27 for 271 yards with five passing touchdowns while also adding 11 rushing attempts for 49 yards (4.5 yards per carry) with an additional rushing touchdown.

Army vs. Temple predictions

The Army Black Knights are clearly the superior team in this matchup. There is an old saying in sports betting: "Good teams win but great teams cover," and that is what the Black Knights have done, going 3-0 ATS this season while the Owls are just 1-3 AS this season.

These teams just do not compare to one another so feel comfortable laying a solid amount of points here on the road.

Speaking of laying points, do not expect Temple to be much of an offensive threat in this game. They are 112th in college football with 5.0 yards per play and the Black Knights completely shut down the running game, giving up just 81.0 yards on the ground per game.

It is incredibly difficult to get the Black Knights off the field as they are 21-of-36 (58.33%) on third down conversion attempts and 5-of-6 (83.33%) on fourth down efficiency this year.

Temple scoring multiple touchdowns feels like too much, as they have not done that in two games already this season.

On the other hand, Noah Short is going to be involved in the offense for the Black Knights and should dominate the Owls defense.

He has scored two touchdowns this season in three games. Even though touchdowns are random, especially in college football, this is one bet that makes a lot of sense.

Army vs. Temple betting tips

Tip 1: Army Black Knights -13 (-110)

Tip 2: Temple Under 14.5 Points (+100)

Army vs. Temple head-to-head

The Army Black Knights and the Temple Owls are conference rivals but do not have an extensive history with one another.

This will be the 14th game against one another and the Owls hold a slight 7-6 record in these games. However, the tides are turning as the Black Knights have won each of the previous two games, including the 2017 matchup, where they secured a 31-28 home win at West Point.
