Week 3 of the college football season is in the books, and with it, some head coaches are on the hot seat. While it is still a little early in the season for teams to pull the trigger on firing a coach, the time to do so is quickly approaching. It might not be long before we see schools starting to part ways with their coaches if things do not change for their teams.

#1 Billy Napier

Billy Napier has been on the hot seat all season and the Gators' performance in Week 3 did not help him. Florida lost 33-20 to Texas A&M, and the game was never close. The Aggies got out to a 20-0 lead in the first half and while the Gators were able to close the gap a bit in the second half, it was still a two-score game at the end.

The Gators are now 1-2 to start the season and the schedule will not get easier with games against Tennessee, Georgia, LSU and Texas coming up. Napier's days look like they are numbered.

#2 Mike Norvell

Mike Norvell appeared to be growing into one of the new big-name college football coaches at this time last year. However, this season has gone wrong in every way for him and the Seminoles. Florida State lost 20-12 to Memphis this week and dropped to 0-3. Additionally, Norvell has not been able to get quarterback DJ Uiagalelei to live up to his potential.

#3 Luke Fickell

Fickell is an early candidate for the hot seat after Week 3. Although his Badgers have a 2-1 record, his team's performance is worse than what the record shows.

The Badgers won against Western Michigan and South Dakota in the first two weeks, but neither victory was dominant. This week, they were blown out by Alabama 42-10. Fickell could be gone if he does not turn around his team's performance.

#4 Sonny Cumbie

Louisiana Tech fell to 1-1 after a 30-20 loss to NC State this week. The Bulldogs have not had much success since Cumbie took over in 2021 and starting slow this year could result in the end of his tenure with the Bulldogs.

#5 Will Hall

This season is Hall's fourth year as the coach of Southern Miss and has struggled in his entire tenure. He has failed to recruit a consistent QB and is off to another poor start. The Golen Eagles lost 49-24 to South Florida in Week 3 and dropped to 1-2 this season. Hall was a coach that some thought would be fired after last season, but now he is on the hot seat.
