The Vanderbilt Commodores are set to host the Alabama Crimson Tide in Week 6 on Saturday at 4:15 p.m. ET. Vanderbilt is coming off their bye week after they lost 30-27 in OT to Missouri on September 21.

The Commodores have been a surprising team this season, starting with an upset victory over Virginia Tech in Week 1 and coming close to winning against Missouri. However, as they face Alabama, Vanderbilt finds themselves as 22.5-point underdogs. If the Commodores are going to play Alabama tough, these three players will play a key role.

3 Vanderbilt players who could pose a threat to Alabama

#1, Diego Pavia, QB

It is no surprise that if Vanderbilt is going to put a scare into Alabama, quarterback Diego Pavia will need to play his best.

Pavia transferred from New Mexico State and has been solid. He's gone 54-for-85 for 721 yards, six touchdowns and zero interceptions. However, he also uses his legs as Pavia has rushed for 279 carries and two touchdowns.

Pavia has been the reason for Vanderbilt's turnaround on offense and he can prove to be troublesome for the Crimson Tide defense.

#2, Eli Stowers, TE

Eli Stowers also played at New Mexico State and the tight end followed his quarterback to Vanderbilt this season. The 6-foot-4 tight end is a big-body receiver that Pavia has chemistry with, in the middle of the field.

Stowers is tough to defend against as he is quick and can get downfield in a hurry, but is also hard to tackle. This season, he has recorded 19 receptions for 220 yards and a touchdown. He's also a red zone threat with his size, so Alabama's defense will need to pay attention to him.

#3, Khordae Sydnor, DL

If Vanderbilt is going to slow down Alabam's offense, they will need to get after Jalen Milroe and force him to make bad throws.

Sydnor is a great run stuffer but can also get after the quarterback as he leads Vanderbilt with two sacks this season. Sydnor will play a key role in the pass rush and getting after Milroe and getting him out of the pocket will be key for Vanderbilt.
