Top 3 Miami players to watch out for vs Virginia Tech

Cam Ward

QB Cam Ward has been an asset for Mario Cristobal's team on the gridiron after transferring this offseason. He spent the last two years with the Washington State Cougars before deciding to join the Hurricanes. And so far, he has done a splendid job earning him a spot in the Heisman conversation this season.

In four games, Cam Ward has recorded a total of 1,439 passing yards with 14 TD passes. He has just thrown two interceptions and has been pretty consistent with his passing on the field. He has completed 89 of 123 passes and boasts a 72.4 completion percentage.

Cam Ward will once again be a key player on the Hurricanes' offense against Virginia Tech. If he can continue this winning streak, then his team could potentially go on to win the ACC championship this season.

Xavier Restrepo

Another key player on Miami's offense is wide receiver Xavier Restrepo. He has been a part of the team since 2020 and was honored as a first-team All-ACC last season. Restrepo has once again been productive on the gridiron this season so far.

In four games, the wide receiver has put up 362 receiving yards with five touchdowns while catching 20 passes. During Miami's showdown against South Florida last weekend, he put up 99 receiving yards and one touchdown.

This Week 5 contest against Virginia Tech will be a real test for Xavier Restrepo. If he and Cam Ward can showcase their chemistry on the field, then the Hokies will have a tough time defending Cristobal's offense.

Jaden Harris

Redshirt sophomore Jaden Harris is another important player on the Hurricanes' defense. He joined the program in 2022 and has improved his skills evidently in the past two years. Last season, Harris played in 10 games and tallied a total of seven tackles for Miami.

This season, he has already played in the first four games for his team. Jaden Harris has already surpassed last year's numbers with 21 tackles, one interception and one pass defended. If he can continue to be consistent, then the Hokies will have trouble breaking through the Hurricanes' defense in Week 5.
