3 Maryland players USC needs to watch out for in week 8

#1 Billy Edwards Jr.

Quarterback Billy Edwards Jr. will be leading the Terrapins offense against the USC Trojans. He began his collegiate career with Wake Forest in 2021 before transferring to Maryland after one season. Edwards took over from the injured Taulia Tagovailoa during the 2022 season.

So far in six games, Edwards has tallied 1,740 passing yards and 11 touchdowns while giving up three interceptions. He has completed 156 of 228 passes attempted and boasts a 68.4% pass completion rate.

Billy Edwards will have to work on his passing game for the Terrapins' offense to break through USC's defense. If he can keep his composure in the pocket, expect them to find openings to score points in Week 8.

#2 Tai Felton

Wide receiver Tai Felton has been consistent with his receptions on the field for the Terrapins. This season, he has 719 passing yards and five touchdowns, along with 55 receptions to his name. Felton is one of Billy Edwards.'s favorite targets while on the offensive play.

Felton joined Maryland in 2021. Heading into his second season in 2022, he became a key offensive player for the Terrapins. Last season, Felton played in all 13 games and put up 723 receiving yards and six touchdowns, along with 48 receptions.

#3 Kaden Prather

Another key wide receiver on the offense is senior Kaden Prather. He began his collegiate career with West Virginia in 2021. After two seasons, Prather joined Maryland last season and put up 666 receiving yards and five TDs for 42 receptions.

This season, Prather has once again been consistent with his running game on the offense. He has tallied a total of 350 receiving yards for three touchdowns in six games. He has the potential to be the game-changer against USC because of his athletic skills and agility.
