During the Big 12 Media Days, commissioner Brett Yormark made it clear that the conference is still open for business despite his belief it's the deepest conference in college sports. With the ACC conference realignment still expected to happen at some point, there are some schools that he and the Big 12 should target over others.

Let's take a closer look at which schools should be earmarked by the Big 12 decision-makers.

Clemson Tigers

The Clemson Tigers are one of two schools in lawsuits with the Atlantic Coast Conference. If they can find a way to leave the ACC, they are going to be looking for a conference that is going to pay them what they feel they deserve.

With the Big 12 feeling it's the nation's deepest conference, this would be a great addition as it could enter the southeastern United States to get market share in one of the country's most college football-crazed locations.

Florida State Seminoles

The Florida State Seminoles are in the same situation as the Clemson Tigers so a lot of the same points are going to be repeated here. The state of Florida is one of the major hotbeds for college football and basketball. That would give the Big 12 a presence in the state for recruits who don't want to leave home and have access to the city of Tampa as well with it only being a few hours away.

North Carolina Tar Heels

The North Carolina Tar Heels have been one of the more interesting stories as they could be one of the targets for the Big 12 through realignment. The Big 12 is a conference that is focused on growing multiple sports rather than just staying focused on purely college football. This would be a great pickup for Brett Yormark.
