After all, some rivalries are so deeply ingrained in college football history that they'll always matter. Sure, your Kennesaw State/Ball State battle might be fun ... but it can't compete with these tried and true rivalries. Enjoy them in College Football 25.

#10, Ohio State vs. Oregon

Yes, this is a new one. Yes, these teams are just now together in a single conference, the Big Ten. But these are two of the most explosive teams on CF25, and the path to the Big Ten title will likely end in a collision course of 93 overall Ohio State and 90 overall Oregon.

#9, Texas vs. Texas A&M

Two college football powers and bitter rivals are now back in the same conference. While the 91-rated Longhorns have an edge over the 88-rated Aggies, it'll still be a competitive battle on the field.

#8, Florida State vs. Miami

One of college football's top rivalries is looking competitive again, both in real life and in College Football 25. Both the Seminoles and Hurricanes are 88-rated teams. In fact, each has an 88-rated offense and an 82-rated defense. Couldn't be more even. And the battle for Florida superiority is on the line here.

#7, USC vs. Notre Dame

It's not even a conference rivalry, but it's still a keeper. 90-rated Notre Dame is certainly College Football 25's top independent, and its battle with 87-rated Southern Cal is one of two of college football's traditional powerhouses.

The two best teams with State in their names? Probably. A college football classic? Definitely. Two of the nation's most intense fan bases host this matchup in two of college football's largest stadiums. Two longtime rivals will stay rivals but in a new conference. Texas, at 92 overall. might have a slight advantage over 87-rated Oklahoma. But that's not to say that one of the sport's best rivalries won't translate to CF25.

Call it the battle of the two best teams still stuck in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Sure, the league has fallen behind the SEC and Big Ten in college football's arms race. But the 90-rated Tigers and the 88-rated Seminoles will keep things spicy in this rivalry.

#3, Alabama vs. LSU

It's not a massive historic rivalry, but frankly, it should be. Alabama, rated 92, has won more than its share of games over 89-rated LSU in real life, but on CF 25, it's anybody's game. With Kalen DeBoer on the other sideline, LSU might feel like it stumbled back into last year's 55-49 game with Ole Miss in this battle.

#2, Ohio State vs. Michigan

Always one of the top rivalries in college football, the recent national title by the Wolverines should take this one up a notch. Even so, Michigan looks to be down this season with a new coach, a new quarterback and a lot of questions. On the field, Ohio State's superiority drops this to No. 2. But if Michigan is playing over its head, this could jump right back to the top spot.

These two teams were the clean two top dogs in college football before a crazy season that included Michigan winning the national title and Nick Saban retiring.
