Nearly a week after his poster was added to UConn's lottery wall, Donovan Clingan returned to the university to support the Huskies on the gridiron on Saturday. UConn’s football team faced the Merrimack Warriors, looking to avoid back-to-back setbacks after a 50-7 loss to Maryland in the season opener on August 31.

The program's football and men's basketball handles co-posted their former star's glimpses from the game on Instagram.

Moreover, Clingan's girlfriend, Madeleine Ross, also joined the program star and posted an image of him holding a husky on the field.

Interstingly, Donovan Clingan, who generated significant highlight plays from his time under Dan Hurley, was presented with a show by the football team.

Despite the absence of UConn’s starting quarterback Nick Evers, the Huskies delivered a fast-paced and dominant performance. They began with Joe Fagnano's deep 45-yard connection to Skylar Bell and quickly racked up 35 points in the first quarter, setting a program record for most points scored in a single quarter.

Their 56-point first half also set a new record for most points scored in a single half by the school. The Huskies' 63-17 win at Rentschler Field tied the program record for most points scored in a game.

Donovan Clingan pulled a page out of Paige Bueckers' world tour

A day before UConn’s record game, Clingan ventured on a Paige Bueckers-like journey, attending a game in Connecticut and New York within hours.

Clingan attended the U.S. Open’s Grand Slam semifinals on Friday at Arthur Ashe Stadium, accompanied by his girlfriend. He was captured dressed in an all-white outfit, as Taylor Fritz defeated Frances Tiafoe in a 5-set matchup (4-6, 7-5, 4-6, 6-4, 6-1).

7-foot-2 defensive anchor, Donovan Clingan, was selected 7th overall by the Portland Trail Blazers in the 2024 NBA Draft. The Associated Press All-American posted a successful Summer League stint this summer, averaging nine points, 12.3 rebounds and a league-leading 4.3 blocks.
