It was announced on Wednesday that JuJu Watkins signed a multiyear contract extension with Nike. The discussion ended on Tuesday, with the members of Klutch Sports leading the negotiation. She initially signed with Nike in October 2022 alongside Caitlin Clark, Bronny James, DJ Wagner and Haley Jones.

Watkins and the UConn star Paige Bueckers are some of the most recognizable faces in the women's college basketball world. She started 34 games as a freshman and averaged 27.1 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game.

JuJu Watkins has set her priorities straight as she enters another year of college basketball

JuJu Watkins is predicted to be the next big thing in women's college basketball, as she showed her might as a freshman by setting a record for scoring the highest points (920) in NCAA Division I.

She talked about her mindset entering another year of college basketball in an interview with Overtime Select. JuJu said:

"I think for me, the priority is just winning and I'm just trying to be a better player, I guess. So that's my priority, but other things come with it and that's cool."

She also spoke about her experience dealing with newfound fame and success off the hardwood floor.

"It wasn't really overnight for me. I think I expected a lot out of myself. I saw the success from working and started to see my hard work pay off," JuJu said. "So I was kinda prepared for it in a way ... it's not that crazy, but sometimes I have moments where it's like, 'Oh wow.'"

It seems like her popularity will only keep increasing as the 2024-2025 season demands more from her and her team. Are you excited to watch Watkins play in the upcoming season? Let us know your prediction for her in the discussion box.
