Just a few hours before posting a story for Team USA's gymnastics team, Paige Bueckers declared Biles as the "GOAT" on X.

At the time, Biles was undergoing one of her routines at the team event.

Notably, this is Biles' eighth Olympic medal and her first gold since standing at the top step of the podium in Rio in 2016. Biles still has four more finals in this year's Olympics and will be hoping to add to her medals tally.

Bueckers, on the other hand, has been supporting her Team USA compatriots at the Olympics during the college basketball offseason. She was also following the men's basketball action when Team USA beat Serbia 110-84 on Sunday.

In February this year, Bueckers announced her decision to return to UConn for the 2024-25 season. She also said that she would continue working in the offseason to potentially help the Huskies win the national title.

Bueckers committed to UConn before the 2020-21 season. She has been with the program for four years but missed the entire 2023-24 season due to an ACL tear.

During her time with the Huskies thus far, Bueckers has averaged 19.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. She has also twice been named Big East Player of the Year.
