The Florida State Seminoles square off against the Tennessee Volunteers in the 2024 College World Series semifinals on Wednesday. The highly-anticipated matchup will begin at 3 p.m. EDT at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska.

For FSU, the equation is a bit more challenging as it needs to beat Tennessee twice to reach the CWS finals. Meanwhile, a Vols win on Wednesday would be good enough for Tennessee to progress to the finals.

FSU has not named its starting pitcher yet, but reports suggest that Jamie Arnold could start for the Seminoles against Tennessee on Wednesday.

Arnold has been a key member of the Seminoles this season and he has racked up an 11-3 record thus far. The left-hander has recorded 159 strikeouts and 26 walks across 105.2 innings pitched at a 2.98 ERA.

Notably, Arnold pitched against the Vols in his CWS debut five days ago. He pitched 5.0 innings and allowed four runs in one of his rare poor outings. Now, the stakes are much higher for FSU since this is a do-or-die game for the Seminoles.

There is also a possibility that the Noles could make a game-time decision for their starting pitcher on Wednesday.
